Based on surviving pairs that originated from the Clothing Bureau at Richmond, Virginia, these trousers are the quintessential eastern style worn throughout the war by the Army of Northern Virginia. Commonly made from “domestic” drab or vegetable-dyed jean and cassimere they were also provided to soldiers cut from imported English woolens such as blue-gray kersey. Like our other kits, our CS trouser kit features all of the pieces cut out and ready to assemble, a skein of cotton thread with wax to ease assembly, all necessary buttons, a buckle for the back belt, and a nine page instruction booklet with full color pictures! NOTE: These are our only CS trouser kit for which we offer English Army Cloth. You have your choice of any of the materials featured on our CS fabric page for your kit! Please be sure to have your waist measurement (at the navel) and inseam ready when placing your order.
