Like most CS issue trousers these utilize a simple civilian pattern adapted for military use by the elimination of stylish features. Utilitarian “domestic” fabrics such as jean, satinet, and cassimere were widely used in production along with stout cotton osnaburg, drill, or shirting interior facings/pocketing. Our reproduction features French style pocket openings that can either be the pointed or curved variety without buttonholes, rear adjustment belts, white bone buttons, and tapered legs. Trousers such as these were widespread throughout the south and are suitable for a number of impressions east, west, early or late war.
